THE NEXT 5…begins TODAY!

April 2019 Update

A year and a half…

We started the original “Next 3” campaign to move from our “church in a trailer” from Marshall Middle School to a leased space as our new home in June 2017. Already God has poured blessings upon us as we now have the opportunity to steward His resources once again in order to accommodate the expansion of the worship center and Harvest kids in early 2019.

Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North has been presented with our third growth opportunity!

The elders and ministry leaders met on 1/16/19 to finalize the details of taking on the additional vacant office space adjacent to Jeff’s office, the conference room and kitchen for new Harvest Kids check-in and classrooms.

The biggest change will be to the worship center! Details were worked out for removing the current nursery and toddlers rooms behind the stage and opening the entire room up to dedicate towards the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This new expansion project rolls our original 3 year lease term to a new 5 year lease with the pickup of the additional space.

This space is approximately 1,413 sq ft in addition to our current 3,454 sq ft of worship center space and 2,123 sq ft space for Harvest Youth & Students (Arrow), Conference and storage rooms (not including the shared hallway, kitchen, and bathroom facilities).

Please Join us in prayer for the following with this opportunity:

  1. That leadership make these decisions based on God's will and blessing for the church, now and going forward

  2. That the property managers give us continued accommodations through this massive construction phase and beyond

  3. That monthly funds are provided to cover the additional cost of leasing this space along with our current facility

  4. That God continue to bless the growth of the church and the people in it that want to know more of Him

  5. That this adjacent space can be used to further the Kids ministry and that others may find who Jesus is while worshiping and learning directly from the bible in our upgraded worship center

Jeff gives the final update before the last touches on the new space are put in place. The final act is from the church members as we work together in building the stage from scratch, laying down carpet in the expanded kids area, adding new stage lighting, and many more amazing things.

Construction is winding down as the ministry teams are gearing up to get to work in the new space! Pastor Jeff gives a recap of what’s happened over the past few weeks and what’s to come. God is doing amazing things you don’t want to miss this!

*All final costs will be updated here upon completion. The ministry teams are great at finding deals, re-purposing, and building to reduce costs.
**God will provide exactly what we need to move into this new space!

What are the needs?
These costs include but are not limited to removal of the curved bulk-head and nursey/toddler rooms, HVAC upgrade, additional sound proofing, video/audio recording equipment, stage lighting, painting, signage/wall art, flooring and carpeting, additional chairs, children's/youth supplies, and stage expansion to name a few.

Moving the stage back will give us more capacity to worship and invite additional friends and family to join us each week.
It will also enable us to remove some back rows to open up the communal space near the rear entrance and steps for better traffic flow and fellowship.

Proposed expansion of Harvest Kids in the current empty office space adjacent to Jeff’s office and the Jiu Jitsu studio. Allows for more kids classrooms than we currently have in addition to a nursing/cry room for mothers.

In 2011, Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North launched to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the North Hills.

Pastor Jeff Miller - Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North

We have become the church we prayed for back in 2011. As we enter a new season, we begin to consider what the next chapter in our church might look like. By faith, moving forward into the THE NEXT 5 years, we prayerfully follow the expanding vision God gave us in the beginning.

As we look forward to THE NEXT 5 years we continue to expand within the facility that will allow our capacity for ministry and visibility in the North Hills Community.

We have signed an updated 5 year lease to occupy an additional 1,400 sq ft space at 12330 Suite 100 Perry Highway in Wexford beginning this April 2019.

We are blessed Harvest Pittsburgh North family,
blessed indeed!

5/15/2017 - The start of something beyond our own minds can possibly dream up!

The First 7 (Our History)

2011

  • Harvest Pittsburgh North started with a few people and no money.

  • The Core Group went from meeting in Paul Persic's basement, to a chiropractor's office, to Marshall Middle School.

  • The church needed over $80,000 dollars worth of equipment, signage, trailer, etc. We had enough money to buy the trailer (empty).

  • God provided many of the things we needed by having them donated, then provided the funds to purchase the rest.

  • October 2, 2011 - Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North launched!

2012

  • Small groups launched.

2013

  • Lives were saved and changed.

  • The church grew from within the nursery.

2014

  • The first class of three elders were installed.

  • Our church participated it’s first short term missions trip by sending one of our members with a team from Phoenix to Moldova to renovate a Harvest pastor’s home.

  • Harvest Kids collected over 100 non-perishable items for a local food bank.

2015

  • Arrow Student Ministry launched in the Spring.

  • We sent a team of seven to do construction work on a pastor’s training center in Arad, Romania.

  • Harvest Kids raised over $800 for World Vision to purchase income-producing farm animals for families in Third World Countries.

  • Our first Small Group multiplication seamlessly transpired.

2016

  • Another small group was added in Cranberry Township.

  • Pastor Jeff spent two weeks in Thailand to train young pastors in sermon preparation.

  • Arrow Student Ministry spent a week in Kentucky doing service projects and visiting the Creation Museum.

  • Harvest Kids collected over 200 non-perishable items for a local food bank.

2017

  • TheNext3 campaign began as a a humble decision to listen to God in prayer. This is a massive step for Harvest has led the way for serving more people in need in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. We have been introduced to many new friends and families since entering our new home on June 4th 2017. Each step of the way God has shown us that He provides for His people faithfully and completely when the need arises.

2018

  • TheNext3 expansion campaign sets the way allowing our Harvest Youth (Arrow) and Kids ministries to flourish in new space dedicated to them. We also added a small conference and storage room adjacent to the kitchen area. These additions allowed for the church to fellowship with one another, gave small groups additional places to meet and grow. As well as serving our children faithfully each week as we grow from within as family sizes increased due to many new babies being born.

2019

  • TheNext5 campaign launches! This is a massive step for Harvest and will lead the way for serving more people in need in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

Moses said to the LORD, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’ Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?”
And the LORD said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” (Exodus 33:12-17)
