Oh, it certainly can. And if you are sure it can’t, it definitely will.

We’re talking about pride. We see other people sin, fail, become “disqualified” - and we have persuaded ourselves that we are made of sterner stuff. And God’s Word warns us - if you think you’re standing, be careful! You just might take a fall.
