  1. He Already has a plan. (John 6:5-6)
  2. He requires Child-like faith. (John 6:7-9)

    Matthew 18:2-4 - And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

  1. You need to Thank God ahead of time. (John 6:10-13)

    John 11:41 - And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me..."

    Mark 11:24 - Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

    Colossians 4:2 - Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

  2. The provision itself isn't the Endgame . (John 6:14-15)

    Deuteronomy 18:18 - I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

  1. What was your big “take-away” from this passage / message?

  2. What do you think was the purpose of Jesus giving the “test” (John 6:6)? Why do you think the disciples, despite all they’ve seen from Jesus, “failed” the test?

  3. Read Matthew 18:2-4. How does this child-like faith show up in John 6:1-15? How can you begin praying with child-like faith if this is not something you have done before?

  4. Why did Jesus thank His Father ahead of time, i.e., before the miracle? What does this say about how we should approach asking the Lord for things in prayer?
